Our Broodmare Group
~ consists of purebred Arabians of strictly Colonial & Crabbet Bloodlines based on the foundation endurance blood of 'Gipsy Maid', a linebred granddaughter of famous 1920's endurance horse 'Shahzada'. To quote a very pertinent statement made by an Australian friend about Colonial horses:
" They're freaks you know, like the immortal Phar Lap of the TB world. They have a genetic muscle type, lung and heart structure and mind set, that gives them the advantage. Just look after them well and they'll do the rest "
Our Arabian mares also carry the very influential endurance blood of 'Spindrift'. We have always admired the consistent good sound conformation, excellent riding, working and Endurance ability of all these lovely old bloodlines. This season 2008~09 Estrellita foaled a very pretty grey filly by 'Delights Wahid' (Cyden Sun x Rowallan Classic Sireen) - this lovely filly is already spoken for. She will be going to her new home with Paula & Rob Watson after weaning. Paula is the granddaughter of Alec Edward who founded the Ngapa Arab Stud.

Ngapa Star is one of the last of the old style foundation mares, very similar to Gipsy Maid. She has very important bloodlines close up & is a linebred granddaughter of 'Gipsy Maid' who was by 'Sirdar' by the famous Endurance horse 'Shahzada'. Gipsy Maid has founded her own endurance dynasty in NZ.

'Delight's Oracle'

Very last purebred by Ngapa Joussif - 6yrs. Very attractive lovely moving mare with size and grace.
Oracle's first foal is a top quality tall grey filly by young sire 'Delights Wahid' (Cyden Sun x Rowallan Classic Sireen). This filly has a super nature & is a favourite with visitors.
September 2008 Oracle foaled a very attractive going grey colt ~ this boy is lovely quality.

Sireen is also closely related to 'Rowallan Domino' & 'Zakah Zahara', plus related to 'Poldark' through her close-up Aethon blood.
She has had several very good foals for us including one of our young stallions 'Delights Wahid' and the last two seasons has produced very stunning fillies to our young stallion 'Delights DJ Zarif'.

'Rowallan Crystabell'

Crystabell's dam 'Wagga Crystal' was a full sister to the Australian Endurance Sire 'Wagga Ambassador' & she is also one of the last foals by 'Diabolo' who is the sire of many World Class endurance horses including the World's Points Number One Endurance Horse 2001 and 2002 'Rowallan Domino' who was also winner of the 'Presidents Cup' 2 years running 2001 & 2002 in UAE.
Rowallan Crystabell is a 3/4 sister to 'Domino'. She is also a full sister to 'Rowallan Quartz' the dam of the very successful UAE Endurance horse 'Zakah Zahara'.
Crystabell has produced a lovely filly 'Rabelle' by 'Ranaarb' and a sweet filly by 'Delights DJ Zarif' which arrived very late on 15 April 08. This year she foaled a Stunning grey colt with outstanding movement, also by 'DJ Zarif'.

'Durdan Tinderbox'

A graceful old lady who displays lovely floating movement. Grand-daughter of 'Shereef' by 'Riffal' & 'Lysander' by 'Spindrift' (sire of Aethon, Delos, Lysander & grandsire of Diabolo). She is also a g.granddaughter of 'Hestia' (full sister to Aethon), 'Hemera' and 'Sala'.
'Tinderbox' carries some of the Best Endurance bloodlines available anywhere in the world close up in her pedigree.
Her breeding and type is very much in keeping with our preferred bloodlines. She has produced two very attractive, lovely moving athletic colts by 'Ranaarb'.

'Delight's Silver Impulse'
Ngapa Joussif x Lucky (by 'Radiant' x TB mare of 'Paper Money' bloodlines)
'Impy' is our only partbred mare - 3/4 arab out of 'Lucky'
'Lucky' was a well performed Anglo Arab Endurance mare by 'Radiant' by Meladdin who has Shahzada as great grandsire on both sides, and out of 'Semna' who's grandsire was the Desert bred 'Outlaw' on sires side and Shahzada is the great grandsire on dams side.
'Delights Silver Impulse' or 'Impy' was herself a well performed endurance mare and is a full sister to
'Delight's Taj', Export Qatar. 'Impy' had a lovely going grey colt October 2008 by Ranaarb. Her colt foal displays the same excellent movement and long smooth walk like his Mum.
'Delights Sheba'

6yr old grey mare. She has started endurance and shows much promise.
Sheba is now an 'Open' Endurance mare and typical of the 'Ranaarb' progeny is very confident and bold, agile and energetic with a good attitude to work and also very competitive. She has successfully completed a 120km and won the North Island Champs 60km Gold Cup.
Lovely confident businesslike personality.

Full sister to 'Delights Sheba' above. 'Delights Stardom' seems to always be a firm favourite with visitors to our Arab Stud.
She was broken in a year ago and will be starting out in endurance next season.
So far Stuart is very impressed with her movement and attitude to work, plus he thinks she is the closest comparison so far to our deceased sire 'Ngapa Joussif', who Stuart always maintains was the very best horse he has even ridden ~ Stardom has the same very light, supple & smooth paces.
