Cyden Arabians was established in 1974 with the purchase of 'Ngapa Ayda' (Puketahu Kentucky x Ngapa Shiela) from Alec Edward of the 'Ngapa Arab Stud'. Ngapa Ayda's 2nd colt 'Cyden Sun' (by Ngapa Joussif) was retained as the stud sire.
'Cyden Sun' is an influential sire in the endurance scene in NZ, following in his sire's footsteps. Cyden Sun progeny are winners in-hand and under saddle, with several excelling in endurance, for example Cyden Cloud Dancer ~ 1st NZ Nationals CEI**100km 2006 Exp.Aust. Highlander ~ 1st 120km Taupo October 2006, HOY Endurance March 2007 2nd & Best Conditioned. Cyden Hero ~ 1st 140km NZ N.I. Champs 2004 Exp.UAE, Cyden Mark ~ Exp.Aust, Cyden Kay ~ 2nd CEI***160km NZ National Endurance Champs March 2008. Cyden Shariff ~ Export UAE.
Cyden Stud has several good broodmares with two having been imported from Australia and four quality daughters of Cyden Sun.
The latest addition to the Cyden Stud is the new young sire
'Twinmills Waratah' (Imp.Aust)
who has his first foal on the ground this season, 'Cyden Silver' out of 'Cyden Minka' (by Cyden Sun).
Cyden Stud is producing strong determined, free moving horses with type & correctness, suitable for all purposes whether showing or endurance work.

Melanie had an early introduction to arab horses as her 3rd riding and show pony was 1/2 arab and bred by Alec Edward (Ngapa Stud) - this gelding was by 'Sirinth' and was an amazing all rounder and an excellent ambassador for arabian horses.
The Arahi Arab Stud had its beginnings in the 1970's with the purchase of the purebred stallion
'Ngapa Falcon'. His temperament was superb and he was an excellent riding horse winning many Championships under saddle.
About the same time the most significant purchase for Arahi Stud was made by securing the gorgeous filly 'Ngapa Arahi' (Puketahu Kentucky x Ngapa Maid) - Arahi Arabians has been named in her honour and she has without doubt been the foundation of the Stud.
Arahi Arabians currently have 19 horses including 6 broodmares, 4 riding horses, 8 youngsters rising 4 yrs old and under and a young stallion

The youngstock are by the pure Crabbet stallion 'Ranaarb', and also by 'CK Heritage Mateus' and 'Arahi Supremo'.
Nadine Barker recently competed at Horse of the Year 120km Endurance, March 2008 and has been chosen as part of the NZ Endurance Team going to South Africa in August 08 - Congratulations Nadine.

The KEAA Group consists of three prominent long established New Zealand Endurance Arabian Horse Studs who have formed an alliance in 2005 for the purposes of sharing knowledge, bloodlines, promotion & success.

We all share common ideals & focus and all three studs are involved with Endurance Competition. Each of our Arabian Studs possess quality Crabbet Colonial bloodlines founded on the prepotent 'Gipsy Maid' dynasty. 'Gipsy Maid' (Sirdar x Salome) was a Colonial mare linebred to the famous endurance horse 'Shahzada'. Our 3 Studs also feature many other valuable and well known endurance, performance and show bloodlines.
